INTRODUCTION

I have been drinking beer and breeding Budgerigars for over 33 years. In that time I have sampled many beers not only those brewed in the UK but also imports from around the world. I have tried to breed Budgerigars for colour and their varieties.

I am neither a beer taster or reviewer nor a Budgerigar shower or judge, I just like drinking beer and breeding Budgies!

I have however, tried home brewing many years ago using kits which you could buy at certain shops they were drinkable but never tasted the same as you would get in a pub or in a bottle they always had a chemical taste to them.

As for the Budgerigars, I have always tried to breed them for their colour, pairing them to breed certain colours and trying to keep the colour even and not patchy. Knowing what colours are dominant or recessive helps to produce the desired colour…eventually! Also, knowing what varieties are dominant or recessive helps you to be able to re-produce them enhancing the colour and pattern markings in the case of opalines, pieds and clearflights etc. but there are still many more varieties to add the list.

The articles attached to the two sections on beer and budgies are just my thoughts, experiences and knowledge gained from reading articles and reading books but even after all these years there is still so much to learn.
